What Is The NPS Calculator?
The National Pension System (NPS) Calculator helps you project your retirement wealth accumulation under the government-sponsored pension scheme. By entering your current age, retirement age, and monthly contribution, it calculates your total corpus at retirement age 60, your tax-free lump sum withdrawal, and your expected monthly annuity pension.
NPS Withdrawal Rules at Age 60
When you reach retirement age 60, NPS regulations stipulate how your corpus is distributed:
Up to 60% Lump Sum Withdrawal
You can withdraw up to 60% of your total accumulated corpus as a lump sum. Under Section 10(12A) of the Income Tax Act, this entire 60% payout is 100% tax-free.
Minimum 40% Annuity Reinvestment
A minimum of 40% of the corpus must be used to purchase an Annuity from an IRDAI-registered life insurance provider, guaranteeing a regular monthly pension for the rest of your life.
Exclusive Income Tax Benefits of NPS
- Section 80CCD(1): Self-contributions up to 10% of salary (basic + DA) eligible within the overall ₹1.5 Lakh limit under Section 80CCE.
